The P38 was produced during WWII by Walther (“ac”), Mauser (“byf”), and Spreewerk (“cyq”). Its design heavily influenced post-war firearms, most notably the Beretta 92, utilizing a similar locking mechanism and slide design. Post-war versions, designated P1, served with the Bundeswehr until 2004.

Walther P38 is a 9mm Parabellum, double-action/single-action (DA/SA) German military pistol developed in the late 1930s to replace the expensive P.08 Luger, becoming standard issue in 1940. It is highly regarded for its reliability, comfortable grip, and as the first military pistol to feature a locked-breech with a DA/SA trigger.

Operation: Short-recoil, locked-breech with a dropping locking block, and an open-top slide.

Capacity: 8-round single-stack magazine.

Features: DE cocker/ safety lever, loaded chamber indicator, and a heel-mounted magazine release.
